Monday, May 17th, 2010

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The ServNet Auction Group recently hosted its first Meet the Owners event of 2010, kicking off this year’s series of meetings with a gathering in Dallas earlier this month.

As some may know, the Meet the Owners meetings are designed to strengthen the relationships that the owners of ServNet’s 22 independent auctions have with remarketers.ServNet Auctions

Attending the Dallas meeting — which was hosted by ServNet president Jeff Brasher, the owner of Brasher’s Reno Auto Auction, and ServNet chief executive officer Pierre Pons — were representatives from the following remarketers: Chrysler Financial, GMAC, Mercedes Benz Credit, AmeriCredit, Hertz, Santander Consumer USA, American Honda Finance and Wells Fargo Dealer Services.

During the event, these remarketers engaged in discussion with auction owners and members of ServNet’s executive staff.

As part of welcoming attendees, Pons and Brasher emphasized the ServNet members’ strengths, which they cite as the following: long-term, multi-generational, independent ownership; established business practices; well-maintained facilities; and cutting edge technology.AuctionPipeline

“A strong Internet presence and online selling capabilities are essential in today’s marketplace,” Brasher noted. “ServNet auctions stand among the leaders in the industry with online tools that not only facilitate inventory searches, but offer simulcast auction selling through a variety of channels, including AuctionPipeline, which was created and developed by a team of ServNet auctions to deliver comprehensive online buying and selling capabilities.”

Brasher’s Auto Auctions Recognized for Service by National Accounts

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

As national accounts tabulate sales performance and results from 2009, Brasher’s Auto Auctions have once again distinguished themselves in both regional and national standings.

Brasher’s Portland received accolades as the leading auction for Donlen in the West Region for 2009.

As mentioned in a previous post, Brasher’s Northwest was recognized by Capital One Auto Finance for its performance in 2009 with Auction of the Year honors for the region. We’re also excited to announce that for a record 5th time, they’ve received similar honors from ARI for their efforts in 2009.

Also mentioned in a previous post, Ford Motor Company presented the prestigious Golden Gavel award to Brasher’s Sacramento for their superior performance in 2009.

“With six Golden Gavel Awards and eight Auction Achievement Awards to their credit, Brasher’s Sacramento Auto Auction has worked hard to produce results for Ford Motor Company,” said Linda Silverstein, General Manager Remarketing for Ford,. “We’re pleased to recognize the relationship that we’ve enjoyed with Brasher’s in Sacramento for nearly two decades, and to acknowledge the service that dealers have come to expect from a Ford Sponsored Auction.”

UPDATE: Since this post went live, Fiserv has also recognized the service offered by Brasher’s Sacramento with it’s top performance designation in 2009 for the Western region. Click here to read more. Thanks again to all of our national accounts, dealer customers, and employees who help make Brasher’s a success.

March is Anniversary Month at Brasher’s

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Brasher’s Auto Auctions recently celebrated anniversaries at it’s two Oregon locations.

On March 18th, Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction commemorated its 17th anniversary with a special sales event featuring close to 1200 units, $5,000 worth of prizes, and a great lunch topped off with some birthday cake. “As we head into the spring market, the optimism in the auction lanes is infectious and vehicles from all segments are selling well,” said Jerry Hinton, the auction’s general manager.

That same day, Brasher’s Idaho Auto Auction had reason to celebrate as well. Owner/General Manager Doug Brasher reports that Brasher’s was celebrating three years in Boise, ID, with a sale that featured two HorsePower lanes, two bank lanes with 400+ Units, an RV/Powersports sale and a GM Factory sale. All lanes were available online with Pipeline Simulcast.

Anniversary month will be topped off with a 2-day auction and celebrity entertainment as Brasher’s Sacramento Auto Auction celebrates 32 years. On March 29th and 30th, Brasher’s will deliver an outstanding selection of vehicles, great food, hilarious entertainment, and exciting prize giveaways-including a 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88.Brasher's LIVE 32nd Anniversary Celebration

“The Anniversary Sale in Sacramento is always an exciting event, but this year, we’re observing something special: after 28 years at Brasher’s in Sacramento, our general manager, Rex Roden, is retiring, and we want to send him off in style,” said auction owner John Brasher.

On Monday evening, March 29th, near 1,000 expected auction customers will arrive at Brasher’s to find the auction arena transformed into a specially-decorated dining room, and will enjoy dinner catered by three different restaurants, amid candlelight and fresh flowers. After dinner and dessert, the guests will be ushered into the Brasher’s LIVE! Comedy club, for a command performance by celebrity entertainer Rob Pearson. A frequent guest on late-night TV and a world-record juggler, Pearson was the featured entertainer at last year’s anniversary event in Sacramento.

“After the show, we’ll clear the auction arena to make way for a 700+ vehicle sale, with a great mix of vehicles from our fleet, finance and new car dealer customers, including a special consignment of bikes from Harley Davidson Financial Services,” said Brasher. “It will be a night of food, fun and auction action, unlike anything you’ve ever seen before!”

Brasher’s will follow up the next day with a 2,500 vehicle sale beginning at 8:45 am, which will feature vehicles from Ford Credit, Ford Motor Company, Capital One, AmeriCredit, PHH, Repo Remarketing and more, including consignments from new and used car dealers throughout Northern California. Free lunch will be served in the lanes, and at the end of the sale, drawings will be held for a number of prizes, including $10,000 in cash and of course, the 1950 Olds 88 Rocket.

We’d love to have you join us!

Brasher’s Cascade to Change Name

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

After the first of the year, the auction will become Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction. Brasher’s management points out that the reason for the change lies in geographical recognition.

“Representatives of our auction frequently find themselves in front of bank, finance and fleet accounts across the nation that don’t know where ‘Cascade’ is,” explains Jerry Hinton, the auction’s general manager. “When we tell them we are from Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction, the guesswork is removed and our customers will know where to find us without further explanation.”
Brasher's Portland Auto Auction
The name and logo change have been in the works for about five months and had to be approved by the National Auto Auction Association. With this completed, Brasher’s has begun the transition that will take full effect on January 1.

Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction will celebrate its renaming with an auction event on January 21 featuring over 1200 vehicles with key consignment from VW Credit and Audi Financial Services. At this event, Brasher’s will be giving out apparel with the new auction name and logo along with traditional food and prizes that accompany these types of Brasher’s party-sale events.

The auction was launched by the Brasher family in 1993 in Lake Oswego, a Portland suburb. Operating in a renovated truck facility with four lanes, the auction held its weekly dealer consignment sale in Lake Oswego until 1995, when it moved to a state-of-the-art facility in Wood Village, near Portland’s International Airport.

The auction is a member of ServNet, a premier group of independent auto auctions from across the United States. The auction also participates in AuctionPipeline, where customers may view detailed condition reports, market report information and participate in online sales.

Fall Harvest Sale Feeds Dealers, Sells Cars, Raises Money for Boy Scouts at Brasher’s Cascade

Friday, November 20th, 2009

There was plenty to buy and sell at Brasher’s Cascade Auto Auction’s Fall Harvest Sale on November 5, when dealers assembled in the auction arena for an 1,100 vehicle sale that featured Honda and Acura Financial Services, Wachovia Financial, Remarketing Services and the Pacific Northwest’s leading new and used car dealers.
Brasher's Cascade Corn Roast & Chili Feed 2009
“We marked the Fall Harvest season with a great day of buying and selling at Brasher’s Cascade Auto Auction,” said auction sales manager Rob Wassom. “Hot chili and cornbread seemed to take the chill right out of the air, and gave everyone the extra energy to stay in the lanes until the very end of the sale!”

Also attending the Fall Harvest Sale were a number of Eagle Scouts representing the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts of America. They were on hand to create awareness for the Boy Scouts and to participate in a fund-raising auction at the end of the day. Once the last car had cleared the lane, dealers remained to offer bids on a number of items collected by both Brasher’s and the local council office, including electronic toys and gadgets, sports packages, and signed sports memorabilia. By day’s end, over $4,500 in revenue had been generated for the Boy Scouts.

“We take our responsibility as a member of our community seriously, and it was gratifying to see how much support the Boys Scouts received from our customers at the Fall Harvest Sale,” said Wassom. “It was great to pull together to raise funds for the Boy Scouts, who do so much to encourage our youth, to help them build character and develop the leadership skills that will serve them as the community leaders of the future.”

Established in 1993, Brasher’s Cascade Auto Auction holds a consignment sale every Thursday at 9AM, and a public sales on scheduled Thursdays. The auction is a member of ServNet, a premier group of independent auto auctions from across the country. The auction also participates in AuctionPipeline, where customers view detailed condition reports, market report information, and attend online sales.
