Brasher’s Tech Tips – Pipeline Simulcast

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

As of July 1st, we’re all done converting our online lanes over to the NEW LOOK. Brasher’s is happy to offer over 30 lanes every week on Pipeline Simulcast. By now, most of you have found your way around. We want to know what you think! Please click here to take a brief survey.

We also want to take some time to call out a few of the features some of you have asked about.

Pipeline Simulcast Bid Client

1

CHANGE LANES: Rather than launch separate bidding windows for multiple lanes, just click this drop-down to quickly jump from lane to lane within a given sale.

2

VIEW MULTIPLE LANES: Clicking here during a sale will launch a separate side window that will show you a real-time summary of what is happening in all other lanes. You can place bids in other lanes from that window or jump to any other lane by selecting it from the list.

VEHICLE DETAILS: Here you can view all of the details (including vehicle info, equipment, condition report, pictures, etc) for the current vehicle being offered on Pipeline Simulcast. Note we also share with you PAR and other book values when available.

BID BUTTON: The most important part! As long as the clerk is in sync with the auctioneer, the green button is the auctioneer’s asking price! If you want to bid more than the auctioneer is asking, you may alternatively bid higher using the other buttons.

Brasher’s Tech Tips – Personalized Run Lists

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Here at Brasher’s, our goal is to make your buying experience as easy and pleasant as possible. That’s why we’re proud to announce personalized run lists.

The idea is this: at an an auction with 2,000 vehicles, there may be 20 or so that are a perfect match for you and your dealership. Rather than make you search through the 2,000, we’ll take you right to the 20.

Our personalized run lists are created specifically for you based on your purchase history at the auction.

To get your run list for any given sale, contact the sales office at your local Brasher’s Auction. We’ll email it to you right away with links to the inventory on AuctionPipeline. Preview the inventory online, or print your list to bring with you on sale day.

Buying at Brasher’s just got a whole lot easier! Have you already been using personalized run lists? Let us know what you think!

Brasher’s Tech Tips – AuctionPipeline Quick Search

Monday, November 16th, 2009

We’ve already covered how to create an account on AuctionPipeline, so we’ll continue where we left off.

If you know the sale you’d like to attend, you’re best off to use the calendar view.  This Tech Tip deals only with Quick Search.

QuickSearchBoxAssuming you’re logged in to AuctionPipeline, you should see a search box towards the top-right of the screen, similar to the one shown here.

In that box, you can enter any part of a year, make, or model. By default, Quick Search results that match your query will be for all auctions and units with an assigned sale date only. After performing the Quick Search, you can fine-tune the results by adjusting advanced search settings (ie selecting specific auctions or searching beyond just units assigned to a given sale).

BoatSearchFor example, searching for “boat” will get you any occurrence of the word “boat” in the year/make/model field for units currently assigned to sale (see image at right).

You could search for “2006 explorer xlt” and get the expected result.

Searching for “05-08 exp” will return any 2005-2008 Explorer, Expedition, or Express Cargo Van.

You can also search by VIN part.  Searching for “vin:123456” will return any occurrence of “123456″ in an AuctionPipeline VIN.

Do you have any other Vehicle Search tips that may be helpful to others?  Feel free to comment here and share.
